About Us

We are a family owned law firm  that deals in all areas of property transactions . There are 15 staff ,of which four are conveyancers .  Our support staff deal will all aspects including Stamp Duty returns and Land Registy matters. Our longevity is quite simply because we care about our clients , and want them to move with as little stress as possible . Buying a house can be one of the most important financial decisions we make so you need to instruct someone you can trust. The average timescale is between 8 to 10 weeks    

       FEES .    Unlike many firms we do not believe in paying referral fees so less than five percent of our work involves a third party fee. The amount varies but on average it is only £75 as we go by recommendation. 

If for example you are buying at £250,000 :

Legal fees would be £995 plus Vat.

Stamp Duty  £2500 ( We will calculate the figure for you, as may not be payable )

Land registry  £270

Local Search Fee  £111 ( regional variations )

Official Search  £3

Bankruptcy Search £2

Telegraphic Transfer Fee  £35 plus Vat

For sellers at this price, the fee would also be £995 plus Vat , with £9 copy deeds and £35 Bank fee.

 

Complaints are thankfully few and far between .Our company policy is if you do have an issue, then you can contact the senior partner Steffen Hullah who is always on hand and will respond within 7 days. We aim to resolve all complaints within 28 days.  For conduct related complaints you can  contact our governing body direct  by clicking on the Verify badge on our home page, this will then re direct you to the CLC website . You then need to click on 'Consumers/Support' tab for full details  . If you make a valid claim against us for a loss arising out of work for which we are legally responsible, and we are unable to meet the liability in full, you may be entitled to claim form the Compensation Fund administered by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers ( from whom details can be obtained). Our complaints procedure is fully outlined in our initial paperwork which every client will get on instruction .If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, then like all firms we are subject to the Legal Ombudsman PO Box 6806 Wolverhampton WV1 9WJ.  The Ombudsman will allow us 8 weeks to deal with your complaint. The matter must be referred to the Ombudsman within 12 months of the issue arising which led to your complaint . We are pleased to say that they have never found us at fault in a transaction, so we must be doing something right.
